WINNER TO REPRESENT MARYLAND AT THE NATIONAL 2011 MISS USA PAGEANT AS SEEN LIVE ON NBC!
Samantha Grier, 20, of Gaithersburg, MD, will compete for the title of MISS MARYLAND USA 2011 on October 29th, 30th & 31st, 2010 at Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference in N. Bethesda, Maryland. Miss Grier is the daughter of Amy Grier. She attends Cheyney University of PA while pursing a modeling career. She is a graduate from Gaithersburg High School, the class of 2008. The MISS MARYLAND USA pageant is the Official Preliminary to the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants and is a Donald J. Trump and NBC Universal Inc. joint venture.
![]() 2010-11 University of Maryland Fulbright Recipients and Alternates Basu received a BA in 2009 from the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences with a government and politics major, and a minor in English language and literature. She was also a fellow of the Jimenez-Porter Writer's House. As an English teaching assistant, Basu will apply her years working as a tutor and instructor for government courses as well as mentoring recent immigrant students. She has also conducted independent research on Turkish issues, which will enable her to meet new challenges there. Upon her return to the United States, Basu plans to pursue a master's degree in international relations or international education. ![]() Former GHS student, William Price, plays for National Championship! ![]() Emily Myron is graduating from St. Mary's this year with a degree in biology. In the fall she will be enrolling at Duke University for a master's program in environmental management. Just last week she was awarded the Department Award in Biology by the faculty for demonstrated academic excellence and achievement in the discipline. Emily is vice president of Tri Beta honor society, a member of Omicron Delta Kappa honor society for campus leadership and last month was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa for excellence in the liberal arts.
