Attention Parent of Seniors: Learn Stategies to Make Paying for College Easier
The purpose of these workshops is to educate parents of graduating seniors on effective college funding solutions that will allow them to pay for college and not negatively affect their overall financial well being. These workshops are NOT about how to fill out forms or search for scholarships or government grants. Due to the overwhelming response in previous years, all attendees must reserve a space prior to attending. Seating is limited to only the first 25 reservations per workshop. Workshop schedule:
  • Monday, May 4th, 6:45pm – 8:00pm at Gaithersburg H.S. (314 South Frederick Ave. Gaithersburg, MD 20877)
  • Tuesday, May 5th, 6:45pm –8:00pm at Wootton H.S. (2100 Wootton Parkway. Rockville, MD 20850)
  • Wednesday, May 6th, 6:45pm – 8:00pm at Sherwood H.S. (300 Olney-Sandy Spring RD, Sandy Spring, MD 20860)
  • Thursday, May 7th, 6:45pm – 8:00pm at Northwood H.S. (919 University Blvd.(west) Silver Spring, MD 20901)

Call Me MISTER
Call Me MISTER - MISTER is an acronym for "Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models." Call me MISTER is a teacher recruitment program collaboration between Clemson University and four historically black colleges in South Carolina: Benedict College, Claflin University, Morris College and South Carolina State University. The program is an effort to address the critical shortage of African American male teachers.

College Navigator allow users to SEARCH - COMPARE - SAVE & EXPORT information. Developed by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) within the Inst. of Education Sciences. Build a resume, complete on-line survey's, and manage timelines and deadline for making decisions about colleges and careers.  Research colleges - Compare your GPA, SAT scores, and other statistics to actual admissions data.  Sign up for college visits - Find out which colleges are visiting our school and sign up to attend those sessions. Pick up your personal registration code and access information in the Counseling Office.Once in, your parents can also register and access information.
