Throughout
the year the students will be exposed to many different sport
and movement activities. The primary grades start the year
with basic locomotor movements and then move towards activities
such as catching, kicking, throwing, dribbling, striking with
hands and paddles, fitness awareness, gymnastics and dance.
The upper grades start the year with cooperative team-building activities and
then move to more sport-related skills such as soccer, throwing, catching, lacrosse,
fitness, basketball, gymnastics and dance. The upper grades will end each of
their units with a culminating activitiy such as a routine, mini-tournament.
My goal is to provide an environment where students don't feel threatened, where
all students can feel challenged, and where they can move and feel involved. |
