GPES Second Grade

What do Mrs. Lucas, Mrs. Cassagnol, Mrs. DiGioia and Mrs. Estrain all have in common? You guessed it…they love teaching 2nd grade! Come and check out all of the exciting things we will learn this year! In science, we raise caterpillars and watch them change into butterflies. We also explore balancing, weighing, liquids, and dissolving. Two of the fantastic experiences that 2nd graders get to enjoy are learning all about Native Americans and economics in social studies. In reading/language arts, we identify story elements and explore fairytales and folktales throughout the year. We can’t leave out math! What a fun subject! 2nd graders are now at the age to learn the ultimate math concepts of multiplication and division! We also review graphs, addition, subtraction, place value, and much, much more! Second grade ROCKS!
