AM Goshen broadcasts at 9:15 AM each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from our TV studio to all classroom TV's on channel 19. Students in grades 5 make up the crew.
Our crew consists of 2 anchors, 2 camera people, 2 sound, 2 camera switchers, and a scriptwriter. A new crew is trained every 2 weeks. Interested fifth graders are selected from sign up sheets conducted at the beginning of the year and in the middle of the school year. All students on the sign up sheet are given the opportunity to participate on a crew at least once throughout the year.
Fourth grade students are given the opportunity to learn and participate as a crewmember beginning after spring break. Sign up sheet are posted in all fourth grade classes when they return from their break.
This allows a core group of 4th grade students to learn the "tricks of the trade" before they enter fifth grade. Thus, starting the school year with an experienced crew.
Our students daily inform the Goshen community about lunch, student birthday's, special announcements, meetings and fundraisers. Classes who get Fine Line awards throughout the week are mentioned on our Friday show.
Special features include Ms. King's Corner, Our First Grade Weather Watchers, highlighting monthly holiday's, school wide event's and diversity with in our school community.
Students who want to volunteer part of their recess and/or lunch as an AM Goshen crewmember has the following qualities:
Must be eager to work with others
Must be willing to learn new tasks
Must be responsible and show up ON TIME for the show and for practice
Must be willing to give up recess few times a week, for 2 weeks!
