Goals:

The goal of the mathematics department at Hoover Middle School is to prepare our students to be successful in math and to assist students in working to the best of their ability.

At Hoover, we promote rigorous math instruction with high expectations for all students. The math teachers strive to present real-world examples in the units of study in order to make the content meaningful to students.

All teachers provide activities and projects along with various other formal and informal assessments for each unit of instruction. In this way, students have multiple opportunities to display their understanding of various indicators in each unit.

We want your child to be successful and are available to assist students in their learning outside of the classroom (usually during lunch). If you have questions regarding your child’s math performance, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher. When we all work together, your child is the one who benefits!
