Physical Education

PE Standards
Physical Education at Luxmanor ES is an integral part of the curriculum.  There are six standards of Physical Education that are implemented in our curriculum. 

• The first standard is that students will develop an understanding of fitness.
• The second is that students will understand the benefits of working as a team. 
• The third standard is that students will understand that “good” practice equals improvement. 
• The fourth standard is that students will be able to maintain fitness levels. 
• The fifth standard is that the students will improve individual skills.
• The sixth standard is that students will use skills in a group or game situation. 

One of my primary goals is to provide each student with specific instruction to enable them to become more skillful movers.  I hope they will take these skills home, and use them on a regular basis. My intention is to inspire them to be lifelong participants in fitness and to live healthy lives.  All students are expected to do their best and to participate in each class.  Please make sure they wear sneakers on their PE days!
