Addressing the Hard Questions on Underage Drinking!

THERE WILL BE NO MARCH 20 PTSA MEETING, TO ENCOURAGE PARENTS TO ATTEND THIS INFORMATIVE EVENT.
Where: Magruder High School Cafeteria
What: Presentation, followed by small group discussions with an expert facilitator for each group. Index cards will be provided so you can submit sensitive questions anonymously about underage drinking such as, "What do I do if I come home and discover my teen is drinking with friends?" "What are age-appropriate consequences if my teen drinks, and how do I enforce them?" "How do I ask my teen's new friend's parents about their values regarding supervision, alcohol, etc.?"
The message we want to give our kids is, "If you are underage, don't drink. Period," so they understand they risk rape, alcohol poisoning (potentially fatal), STDs, and a host of other problems that come with a heavy - and preventable - emotional, financial, and psychological cost without getting behind the wheel!
PLEASE NOTE THIS MEETING IS FOR PARENTS OF MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. AND YES, YOU MAY BRING A FRIEND!

Important Notice:
We will not be having our regularly scheduled PTSA meeting on Tuesday March 20th in an effort to support the Brave and Bold Forum scheduled for the next evening, Wednesday March 21.
The PTSA Board will meet on Friday March 16 to review any important business issues. If you have anything you would like us to address in the board meeting, please contact dtrahern@aol.com. We hope you will be able to attend the Brave and Bold event. Our next PTSA meeting is scheduled for April 17th @ 7:30 in the Media Center.
