The Choice process has two rounds. The first round is for Grade 8 students who reside in the NEC attendance area. Round 2 is for students who did not get their first choice in Round 1, new students to the NEC, and students on transfer into a NEC middle school.

> Deadline for returning completed Choice forms to Consortia middle schools, 11/14
> Round 1 high school assignment letters mailed to Grade 8 students
> Change of Choice forms available in counseling office for current grades 9, 10, 11 by end of month
> Change of Choice Deadline, 2/23
> Round 2 Deadline for those students who did not receive first choice in Round 1, transfer students, and students new to NEC following Round 1, 2/23

> High School Registration Night for Grade 8 students and parents
> Round 2 high school assignment letters mailed to Grade 8 students
> Deadline for parents to submit school assignment appeals to DCCAPS
