The Neelsville Middle School
staff, students, parents, and community are devoted to the concept
that Neelsville is the “School of the Universe;” we continuously seek
ways to improve in order to fulfill the premise that with effective
effort all students can experience academic success and develop a
sense of personal and social responsibility. We provide a structured
and rigorous learning experience and opportunities to explore a
variety of interests that values our diversity and respects student
individuality. |

Neelsville MS has a short but interesting
history. Our facility was actually constructed in 1981; another school
used the building for fifteen years, then moved in 1996 to a new building
about three miles away. Our staff and students moved into the facility
in the summer of 1996, and the building got a fresh coat of paint
and a new look to welcome the new occupants. The name of our school
was taken from a small community named Neelsville that used to exist
in the area where our school now resides. Neelsville Middle School
was dedicated to the students and community it serves on May 18, 1997.
We are in the Watkins Mill and Clarksburg clusters of schools, with our students coming
from Daly ES, South Lake ES, Stedwick ES, and Fox Chapel ES and
going to Watkins Mill HS and Clarksburg HS in the ninth grade. |
