National Junior Honor Society
On Friday evening, April 17, 38 students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. This is the 4th year the program has been in existence and the largest number ever inducted. 32 of the students were current 7th graders. All held a 3.5 grade point average or higher and demonstrated the qualities of service, character, citizenship, scholarship, and leadership. Dr. Edward Newsome, Jr. , Director of School Performance for upcounty schools, gave the welcoming address. The candle lighting ceremony and student performances were led by Myiesha Jeffries, Brittney Hanson, Manisha Pradham, Nikhil Gowda, Kelly Lewis, Roda Viernes, Alana Hamann, and Linda Wu. Ms. McClain introduced the inductees and in a surprise presentation awarded Mrs. Brown and Ms. Beckerman with adviser pins.
