Aborigine “X-Ray” Paintings

Native Australian Artists painted animals in the “x-ray” fashion, showing both the outside and inside of the animal.  This might include the skeleton, or internal organs, even the contents of the animal’s stomach.  8th graders drew and painted animals native to Australia and New Zealand, using the “X-Ray” technique along with the dot patterns common to Aborigine art.  The dot patterns represent the patterns of nature, home and hearth in the world of native Australians.
