Tri-Pod Pinch Pot Vessels

Both Functional (as a container) and Sculptural, these pinch pots stand on three “legs” or feet.  The pots are formed from earthenware clay, “bisque-fired” once, then painted with liquid glaze and “glaze-fired” a second time.  The glaze forms a strong, waterproof and decorative finish once fired to approximately 1941 degrees Fahrenheit.  8th grade students were assessed on their craftsmanship, construction and glazing techniques and on their creativity.
