Student Service Learning

All summer SSL hours must be reflected on and turned in to Ms. Rice no later than Friday, September 25 th. To find future SSL opportunities check the board in the Counseling Office or www.mcpsssl.org.

The main page, with access to forms and all information links, is titled Student Service Learning (SSL). It can also be found at www.mcpsssl.org .

Documentation of service performed during the second semester must be turned in to the SSL coordinator by Friday , September 25, 2009. Hours cannot be accepted after that date.

Student service learning (SSL) hours must be performed with organizations and opportunities that are pre approved for SSL.

Check the bulletin board in the Counseling Office for opportunities
Choose organizations and opportunities tagged, “MCPS SSL Approved,” at the website www.mcpsssl.org
Submit a completed **MCPS Form 560-50, Request for SSL Preapproval, for confirmation in advance of any service.

All forms are downloadable from the SSL website, www.mcpsssl.org , and can be found on the SSL table in the Counseling Office.

FUTURE DATES:

MCPS Form 560-51, SSL Activity Verification documenting first semester service must be turned in to the school SSL coordinator by the last Friday before exams, January 8 th, 2010.
MCPS Form 560-51, SSL Activity Verification documenting second semester service must be turned in to the school SSL coordinator by the last Friday before 2 nd semester exams, June 4 th, 2010.
