Season Recap:
The boys cross country team had a very successful season highlighted with a win at the Meade Invitational, a runner up finish at Woodward Relays and a fifth place finish at the Montgomery County Championships. However, they did not qualify for the State Championship meet, missing by 4 points. This year's team was led by Senior Captain Jeremy Blair and tight pack of five talented runners including juniors Jack McCullough, James McNamara, and Jeremy Batt and sophomores Jacob Cantor and Sam Martin. The future looks bright for the boys cross country team with some talented freshmen waiting to step up and take a couple varsity spots in the coming years.
The girls cross country team went through a semi rebuilding year after losing 3 varsity runners to graduation. The girls also had impressive showings at Woodward Relays and the Meade Invitational, getting second at Meade. The girls also were close, but did not qualify for states. This year's girls team was led by senior captains Alana Moore, Julia Mertz, and Eva Rodezno, who were some of the best in the county. The girls got big performances from sophomore Fatima Resendiz and freshmen Genesis Porquin and Nikki Pedowitz. The girls will look to the young guns to help them compete in the county next year. With the talent pool that we have you never know who might come out and step up to run with the varsity runners.
