Food Drive

The Rockville High School Rotary Club is collecting canned food as part of the Rockville City Holiday Drive. Bring donations to your first period class. The class with the most donations will win a donut party. Also, the food will be stored in Mr. Rohner’s office. Our goal is to completely fill his room. The final collection will be November 19th, so please make sure all donations are brought to school by then. 11/6/09

Step Team try-outs will be held Tuesday, November 10th until Thursday, November 12th from 2:30 – 4:00 in room 2115. If you are interested in participating please plan on staying for the entire time on all three days. For questions or conflicts please see Mrs. Fletcher. 11/6/09

Seniors: Fruit Sales are a little over a week away from being completed. Make sure you get out there and sell your fruit. Any senior that missed the class meeting needs to see Mr. Riggs in room 1053 before school, during lunch or 6th period to pick up some important information. 11/6/09

Attention SOPHOMORES! Do you demonstrate leadership or have leadership potential? The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership seminar, or HOBY, is seeking top sophomores from across the state to attend this year’s HOBY leadership seminar. Rockville High School can only select ONE 10th grader to attend this prestigious event. If you are interested, you will need to submit a brief essay (in 100 words or less) on the following topic: Describe the most rewarding and challenging aspect of being a leader in your school and community. Essays are due to the counseling office by Nov. 16th! 11/6/09

Rampage 5K

There is still time to register for the first annual Rampage 5k race to be run on November 21. Here is a picture of the logo, designed by Anna Damone,that will be on the t-shirt that runners will receive. Special student rates are $15.00 for an individual student entry, or $45.00 for a group of 4 friends. Entry forms are available through your English teachers, the IMC, or Mr. Daddone in room 2033. Deadline to sign up at this rate and guarantee your shirt size is November 13. Get fit, get an awesome shirt, and support the journalism program! 11/6/09

Cross Country Excellence

Congratulations to the Rockville Cross Country team for competing at the 2A West Regional Meet. The girls’ team finished 7th of 12 teams. The boys’ team finished 9th of 12 teams. Katie Nagiel and Amy Ferro qualified for the 2A state championship by finishing 9th and 12th respectively. Nathan Austin also qualified for the 2A State Championship by finishing 6th in the boys’ race. 11/6/09
