Morning Announcements, Friday, November 6, 2009
    WORD OF THE WEEK: Munificent - ADJ - extremely generous

Helped by Mrs. Low’s munificent gift, the university now has enough funds to build a new student center.

Attention: 7th and 8th students: Basketball tryouts will begin November 19th. To tryout you must have an up to date physical form and signed parent permission slip on file with Mr. Thomas by November 19th. See Mr. Thomas with questions.

Magruder girls’ volleyball is hosting a fee clinic to 4th graders through 8th graders. The clinic will be held in the Magruder gym on Saturday, November 7 from 10 – 11:30am. You don’t need any previous experience. See Mrs. Martin for details.

If you have created a poster for the Peace Poster contest, please turn it in to Ms. Brecher today (Friday, November 6th). See Ms. Brecher with questions.

Attention girls’ softball team: you need to bring your clean jersey on a hanger to Ms. Magro in D210. Any jersey that is not turned in will result in an obligation. Please bring your jersey to Ms. Magro today!

Last chance to see the fabulous Fall Talent and Fashion Show featuring your friends and SGMS staff. Last night’s show was a hit! Tonight’s show starts at 7 so don’t be late! Remember if you wait to buy tickets at the door, they will be one dollar more – so get them at lunch today!

Attention Mrs. Martin’s first quarter sixth graders. You are invited to come play pickleball outside during lunch today. If you need a pass, see Mrs. Martin at the beginning of connect time.

It’s sticker day Friday!!! Attention MCEA members…Are you wearing your sticker today? If not, please send a student to D210 during CT to pick-up a sticker for you. Again, if you don’t yet have a sticker please send a student during CT to D210. Remember, time for educators equals student success!

The shows are tonight and tomorrow night at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are only $5 for General Admission and $10 for reserved seats. Come see your friends and SGMS staff show off their talents. Today is the last day of volleyball intramurals until the spring. Come and play volleyball, sign up in the dining room. You must sign up to stay!

Please excuse the cross country students from their connect time today for their end of season party. Cross country team, meet in Mrs. Singhaus’ room (the FACS room) right after period 1. (repeat last sentence) Bring your $2 and your jersey if you have not yet turned them in.

Are you artistic? Do you enjoy creating artwork? If so, please consider entering the Peace Poster contest! All students are eligible to enter the contest by creating a poster about peace. There are very specific rules that you’ll need to follow when making your poster; please see Ms. Brecher for details. Posters are due this Friday, November 6th.
