Website Tips

• Updates - The Stonegate Home Page is updated at least weekly during the school year with upcoming news and events. Other pages are updated as we get new info from teachers or parents. The "Site News" at the bottom of the Home Page always lists the latest updates so they're easy to find.
• Navigating the Site - The blue navigation bar on the left side of each page will take you where you want to go. Just click on one of the topics to go there. If the link takes you outside the Stonegate site, such as the staff directory page (which is part of the main MCPS site), it will open in a new window to make it easy to return to the Stonegate site.
• Class Pages - If you want to go to a class page,start at the grade page on the navigation bar. If your child's teacher has their own page, you can reach it from the home page for that grade.
• Bookmarks - The easiest way to return to Stonegate's website is to bookmark it. You can bookmark more than one page - Stonegate's home page, for instance, and the class home page for your child. In Internet Explorer, select the "Favorites" menu from the toolbar at the very top of the page, and then choose "Add to Favorites." In Firefox or Netscape, you select "Bookmarks" on the toolbar.
• Surfing Safely - For some terrific tips on how to help your children surf the Internet safely, go to pointsmartclicksafe.org.  MCPS has a terrific site with lots of tips.  And you can find more ideas under "Resources for Parents" on the Ed Links page.
