Mr. I's Webpage!!!

Hello everyone, this is Mr. Isaacson's webpage. I am a General Music Teacher with the Montgomery County Public Schools.

I currently teach at Strawberry Knoll Elementary (.6), Beall Elementary (.3), and McAuliffe Elementary (.1). This means I am at "The Knoll" three days a week - Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays; at Beall on Monday afternoons and all-day Tuesday, and at McAuliffe on Monday mornings.

 Remember to sing, and act, EUPHONICALLY!!!  
 

The Strawberry Knoll ES 5th Grade Chorus will be performing at least four times this school year --

    * the December Concert,

        * December Sing-along,

            * Spring Concert, and

                * 5th Grade Promotion.

Additional concerts will be scheduled as the opportunities come up!!!

 Mr. I's Background

TEACHING:

Strawberry Knoll ES (.6); Beall ES (.3) and McAuliffe ES (.1); 2007 - 08

Strawberry Knoll ES (.7) and Beall ES (.3); 2006 - 07.

Carderock Springs ES (.6) and Beall ES (.4); 2004-5, 2005-6. Also directed the Carderock Chorus (4th & 5th Grades), and directed the 5th graders in "Pirates of Penzance" (2005) and "The Adventures of Mr. Toad" (2006).

John F. Kennedy HS (.5) and Burnt Mills ES (.2); 2003-4. Also served as Drama Club Music Director when they performed "Annie" (November, 2003) and Once on This Island (February, 2004).

I previously taught in NH (1983-4), and was a substitute teacher with MCPS (April 2001 to July 2003).

MUSIC: My "main" instruments are Trombone and Baritone/Euphonium, both of which I teach privately. I play Trombone professionally, most recently at the production of "Fiddler on the Roof" at Cong. Har Shalom, at a few local churches, and with the Washington Savoyards. Over the years, my Trombone teachers included Hal Janks, Gary Shaw, John Hahn and Richard Cryder. I studied Baritone/Euphonium with Peter Popiel.

I also LOVE to sing!! And I conduct the Or Chadash Singers, the adult (13+) choir for Congregation Or Chadash, the Reform Jewish synagogue in Damascus, Md.
