Welcome to the
Counselor's
Corner
Hello! My name is Yolanda Stefanou Faerber, and I am thrilled to be your child’s school counselor here at TMES. I am a product of MCPS schools, having graduated from Winston Churchill High School in the 80s. My three children are currently attending MCPS schools. I attended Georgetown University, and received a B.S.B.A. in Finance. I then obtained a J.D. from The Washington College of Law, the American University. In May 2006, I received a Masters in School Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.
Elementary school counselors are professional educators with a mental health perspective who understand and respond to the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population. Elementary school years set the tone for developing the knowledge, attitudes and skill necessary for children to become healthy, competent and confident learners. Through a comprehensive developmental school counseling program, I work as a team with the school staff, parents and the community to create a caring climate and atmosphere. By providing education, prevention, early identification and intervention, I can help all children can achieve academic success.
