The Media Center is the research and learning hub of the school. In August 2006, Travilah participated in the Technology Modernization Program for the second time, a project of the MCPS Office of Information and Organizational Systems, with a Windows network and Dell computers.. At present, the Media Center consists of fourteen networked student workstations, an automated circulation system (Winnebago Spectrum), a student workstation with the Patrons Catalog, an administrative workstation, black & white and color laser printers, LCD projector, and a scanner. It provides students and staff the opportunity to use the Internet and other forms of telecommunication for research. In elementary school, following MCPS guidelines, all use of the Internet is under direct teacher supervision. Many CD-ROMs are available for use as well.
