The media center provides instruction, support, and materials for
students and staff. For more information on our program, please read this (PDF132KB). Our mission is to encourage reading and
the independent use of information resources. Student input was used to develop our "School Library Media Center Rules for Success" The state of Maryland
provides standards for
school library media programs which act as our guidelines. The
media center is open from 8:00 to 4:30 each day. Travilah's media
center features an automated circulation system and a networked
Research and Learning Hub that provides
students and staff with access to the Internet. The media center is
open at recess to students for pleasure
reading and computer use, when it is not scheduled by teachers for
research activities. Students may check out books anytime during the
