Kindergarten Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year

For the 2026-2027 school year, kindergarten registration is being held online through the ParentVUE portal. Children who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2026 are eligible. If your family is new to MCPS, you will need to create a ParentVue account (click here). After creating an account, you will be prompted to register when you first log in.
 
For assistance with registration, please do not hesitate to visit our main office or call us at (240)740-1000. In addition, MCPS just released video tutorials in different languages to assist families--Watch in English | Spanish | French | Chinese | Vietnamese | Amharic | Korean | Portuguese.
 

Prekindergarten Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year

Free prekindergarten is available to income-eligible families with children who will be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2026. Prekindergarten and Head Start registration is happening online or in-person at community locations during March. For more information, please call (240)740-4530.
