About Our Principal
Susan Barranger, a well-respected former teacher, left Washington Grove in 2001 after 6 years as academic support teacher to become Assistant Principal at Greenwood Elementary School. Following that, she interned at Highland View Elementary School before she became Principal there in 2004.
Mrs. Barranger is committed to continuing the strong academic program she finds in place here. Washington Grove met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in all subgroups, and also the Annual Measurable Objective (AMO) in all subgroups on the Maryland State Assessment (MSA).
She says returning to Washington Grove makes her feel like she is “coming home.”
