Stressbusters: The Stressbusters Committee aims to reduce the negative effects of stress on students at Whitman. We work with the administration, the guidance department, parents, and students to identify and remove unnecessary sources of stress and to improve students’ ability to cope with normal levels of stress.
The Stressbusters Committee is a subcommittee of the Guidance Advisory Council
and was formed in 2004. It consists of parents, students, the school principal,
and Whitman’s resource counselor.
Valuable Viking: The Most Valuable Viking Award is an opportunity to recognize
those students or groups who have contributed to the Whitman community in a
significant way. Award winners can only be nominated by Whitman teachers and
administrators. These awards are specially–designed for those students
whose contributions may be less visible to the student body yet show extraordinary
commitment, talent or compassion. They emphasize non-academic, non-sports related
areas. All nominees will be honored.
