On this website, you will learn about the life cycle of a butterfly.  A life cycle means the stages of development in a creature's life.  The life cycle begins with the egg. Then, the egg hatches and a caterpillar appears. Next, the caterpillar grows and will change into a chrysalis. This is the process of metamorphosis. After metamorphosis, a butterfly will emerge from the chrysalis. Later, the butterfly will mate and lay eggs. Then, the life cycle begins again!
