Mrs. Kilcoyne’s Class News

June 2005

Our Flat Stanleys' have arrived and we enjoyed looking at the places they have been.  One Stanley went all the way to Alaska!

Math

We are continuing to work on finding elapsed time, volume, temperature, customary and metric measurements for capacity.

The students have been reading and writing poetry. They are composing in a variety of forms including couplets and refrains.

We have learned about the interdependence of plants and honeybees.
Many thanks to Mr. Frazer for bringing real honeybees for us to see.

We are in need of some tissue. If you can send some we would appreciate it.

We have finished up our "tour" of Iceland and are currently visiting Nigeria.

Did you know?
Nigeria has the largest population of all the countries in Africa.

Ask your child what else they have learned about Nigeria.

Now that the weather is getting warmer, you may want to send a water bottle with your child.

On Friday, June 10 our class will have an ice cream party.  I will supply the ice cream, bowls, and spoons.  I will ask for student volunteers to bring in some toppings.  More information will come home soon.
