A Message From Mrs. Starr
Tonight, we will have the opportunity to witness the value of our students learning about the various parts of the world and cultures that make up our heritage at Woodfield. While this school may not be as diverse as some other schools, we can all celebrate our personal histories and share our individual stories. This understanding fosters in all of our children a high level of cultural competency that will serve them well as they grow and learn. We cannot even predict what will be asked of our children in the future during their lifetimes. Our global society has changed everything. Providing all of our children opportunities to live and work together in a diverse and understanding climate ensures that they will be able to succeed in this diverse society.
Please come to International Night tonight from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thanks to our fabulous parents who organized this event. They are Siobhan Kopp, Sue Stott, Lucy Lock, Helen Checkan, Lisa Keaner, Beth Andrews, Kelly Lozano, and Dee Dauber.
International Night
Join us for an INTERNATIONAL NIGHT of FUN, FOOD and ENTERTAINMENT on Friday, April 25th from 6pm - 8pm. Discover Cultural Heritage within our school. Travel and explore around the world to 30 different countries. Collect stickers for your passport and exchange them for prize tickets. Complete the scavenger hunt and earn more tickets for these great prizes. Prizes you can win are Webkinz, Squishies, turbo water soakers, and more!!! Taste international cuisine. There will be pizza for sale to benefit the rising 5th grade. This event is open to Woodfield students, families and friends. We look forward to this journey together.
Footprints for a Cure!!
Please note our footprints on the school wall. These are all a result of contributions donated by students and parents to assist in finding a cure for cancer! A special thanks to the Student Government Association and Mrs. Mindy Conway for organizing this event.

(It is near the center of the mall elevators.) Congratulations to the students in each grade level whose work was selected for this display. PTA Meeting to Discuss Field Trips for Next Year
There have been some concerns expressed from parents about field trips, their costs, their benefit, and making sure that the time is being wisely used. I have asked a teacher from each grade level, Kindergarten to Grade 5, to come to PTA meeting on Tuesday night, May 6th, at 6:30 p.m. to answer any questions that you may have about the field trips that may be scheduled for the 2008-2009 school year on each grade level. Due to the gas prices, the costs of these field trips will need to increase. Please join us at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6th if you would like to learn more about the field trip(s) scheduled for next year. A teacher representative will be there from each grade level (if possible) until 7:00 p.m.
