Board of Education Invites Community to Learn about 2026 Budget Process
The Montgomery County Board of Education invites the community to join an important series of community meetings to gain a deeper understanding of the MCPS budget process. Inside the MCPS Budget Process: How It Works and What’s Included will provide an opportunity to learn firsthand from Board President Julie Yang and MCPS Superintendent Dr. Thomas Taylor about the budget process and how this year’s recommended operating budget reflects the Board’s values and priorities.
Following a brief presentation, a Q&A session will allow attendees to ask questions and share thoughts directly with school leaders. Understanding the district’s budget is important for everyone and we encourage your participation in this vital conversation.
Community Meetings Schedule:
- Wednesday, January 22 – 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. | Seneca Valley High School (RSVP)
- Tuesday, January 28 – 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. | Paint Branch High School (RSVP)

Your voice matters. Whether through speaking at public hearings or submitting feedback via email at boe@mcpsmd.org, we encourage everyone to contribute their ideas and help shape the future of our schools.
Together, we will ensure that the MCPS budget continues to uphold the district’s legacy of excellence and serves all students with fairness, opportunity, and support.
