Swearing In of Student Board Member

Springbrook High School rising senior Sarah Horvitz was sworn in as the 29th student member of the Board of Education July 5 by Clerk of the Court Molly Ruhl. Horvitz was chosen by 54 percent of Montgomery County Public Schools secondary students who cast ballots in the April 26 election, conducted by the Montgomery County Region of the Maryland Association of Student Councils. Horvitz has been active in student government for several years, including as vice president of the Springbrook Student Government Association and coordinator of the Student Advisory Committee.
