In Unit Four, students explore probability and chance as they related to real world situations. Students derive the fundamental counting principle, as well as permutations and combinations. Empirical and theoretical probabilities are also explored. Students study the relationship between probability and odds, the probability of compound events, expected value, simulations, game theory, and how large crowds are counted. The emphasis is on the applications of probability and chance.
