Day Program Information for Parents
The most important action parents can take to prepare their
children for a program is to pay careful attention to the expected weather
conditions and dress their children properly for the day. Students should come
prepared to be outdoors including comfortable shoes for hiking and seasonally
appropriate clothing. Students also bring bagged lunches to eat on site after
the instructional program.
In case of
inclement weather of the kind that would make a field trip unsafe or
instructionally inoperative may require a school to reschedule or cancel the
program. These changes will be initiated by the home school with advice and
consultation from the Day Program Coordinator who will attempt to set a new
date for the trip.
Students may attend a program at either the Lathrop E. Smith Environmental Education Center or Kingsley Environmental Center.
