Dr. Cheryl L. Dyson currently serves as area associate superintendent in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and supervises 70 schools ranging from elementary to high school. Mrs. Dyson is a member of various workgroups responsible for the improvement of teaching and learning in MCPS. Prior to her current position, she served as director of school support and improvement of elementary schools, director of family and community engagement, principal, assistant principal, and principal intern at various schools in Montgomery and Charles counties.
Mrs. Dyson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Towson University, Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Hood College.
Born and raised in Maryland, Dr. Dyson graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in Upper Marlboro and began her teaching career at MCPS in 1999. Her passion for learning is evident in her coaching, supervision, and support of staff members to create favorable outcomes for all students.
