The Department of Materials Management, Editorial Help Desk, held its first Editorial Summit since the pandemic in the Board room at 15 W. Gude Drive, on Thursday, October 17. The event was well-attended by more than 70 administrative secretaries from schools and central offices across the district.
The summit theme, “Correspondence in the Age of AI,” focused on information and advice for using artificial intelligence in our work. The event featured an interactive wellness workshop on dealing with stress, led by Megan Toomer, wellness coordinator in the Employee Assistance Program. EGPS Creative shared images from their explorations using AI to create beautiful products for students and staff. Attendees shared their questions and concerns about using AI. Board member Lynn Harris stopped in for a short time. Other special attendees included Dana Edwards, director, District Operations, and Rachel DuBois, director, Department of Materials Management.
