Our Mission

The mission of the Division of Design and Construction (DDC) is to design effectively manage design and construct safe and quality learning environments that reflect MCPS's vision and core values for students and staff through effectively managed processes. To achieve this mission, the Division of Design and Construction must be a model of excellence in progressive, innovative, and process-driven facilities design and construction. To become this model, the Division and its staff must—

• engage collaboratively and respectfully with all stakeholders, thereby building a self-renewing learning community that reflects our values, 
• provide the highest quality design, construction, and support services that are essential to the educational success of all students,
• organize and optimize resources, including effective use of technology and sustainable practices,
• hire for excellence and build the capabilities of all staff, and 
• promote effective multi-directional communications at all levels.
