EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Checks, adjusts, repairs and maintains in good working order all custodial equipment used in the school system, including but not limited to buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, shampooers, wet/dry vacuums (pick-up machines). 2. Does the initial troubleshooting at the schools / site to determine if the repair needed is a simple one (change of batteries, new power cord) and it can be done on site or the equipment needs to move to the ERS.3. Assists the tool mechanic with the repairs and diagnostic of the custodial equipment in the ERS4. Assist the tool mechanic with the inventory control of spare parts. 5. Salvages parts from equipment that has been marked for replacement by the tool mechanic or the DFM financial team6. Assists the tool mechanic in identifying equipment that has been abused and assist the tool mechanic with the reports7. Pick-up and delivery of custodial equipment from/to school/site8. Sweeps repair facility, helps with the general maintenance and upkeep of the ERS9. Serves as the back-up to the tool mechanic in the absence of him/her, by logging the work requests and informing the tool mechanic of what is needed upon his/her return.10. Performs related work as required.
