JFF-RA Federal Requirements for Use of Protected Student Information
On September 12, 2008, the superintendent approved a new Regulation JFF-RA, Federal Requirements for Use of Protected Student Information. This new regulation was created to provide a process for the protection of student rights regarding the administration of surveys and physical exams, marketing of personal information, and the inspection of instructional materials provided to a student — required by the Federal Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment.
On July 1, 2008, the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation ABA-RB (formerly COA-RA), School Visitors. This regulation was updated to align with current practice and system expectations.
ABA-RC Vendors on or Near School Premises
On October 14, 2008, the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation ABA-RC (formerly COD-RA), Vendors on or Near School Premises. This regulation was revised to reflect changes in Montgomery County Code which has been recodified and revised to permit vendors on or near school grounds with permission of the principal.
ACG-RB Accommodations and Services to Students Qualifying Under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
On July 2, 2008, the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation ACG-RB (formerly IOG-RB), Accommodations and Services to Students Qualifying Under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. This regulation was revised to update offices, add related sources, add new definitions, and align with current practice.
AEB Strategic Planning for Continuous Improvement
On May 12, 2009, the Board adopted the revision of Policy AEB, Strategic Planning for Continuous Improvement. The policy has been revised to reflect the Board's strong commitment to include staff members, students, parents, and other community members on the School Improvement Team for each school; reflect the alignment of the strategic planning process with budget preparation procedures; and to outline the opportunities for community input into the budget preparation process.
BMA Board of Education Advisory Committees
On July 9, 2008, Policy BMA, Board of Education Advisory Committees, was updated with non-substantive changes.
DIA-RB Payments for Personal Services and Reimbursements for Expenses from School Independent Activity Funds (IAFs)
On October 29, 2008, the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation DIA-RB, Payments for Personal Services and Reimbursements for Expenses from School Independent Activity Funds (IAFs). This regulation was revised to align with current practice, remove detailed practices and replace with reference to the IAF manual.
DIE-RB Out-of State Travel on Official Business
On October 29, 2008, the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation DIE-RB, Out-of State Travel on Official Business. This regulation was revised to align with current practice and to include a new section on the method of reimbursement for subsistence.
On November 8, 2008, the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation EBA-RA, Fire Safety. This regulation was revised to include new language and procedures to permit model rocketry under limited circumstances.
EBE-RA Use of Protective Eye Devices
On August 18, 2008, the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation EBE-RA, Use of Protective Eye Devices. This regulation was revised to align with relevant federal and state regulations and nationally-observed safety code on the use of protective eye devices for employees in addition to existing language regarding students.
ECG-RA Student Driving and Parking Facilities
On January 14, 2009, the superintendent made revisions to Regulation ECG-RA, Student Driving and Parking Facilities. This regulation was revised to update offices.
GKA-RA Administrative Complaint
On July 14, 2008, the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation GKA-RA, Administrative Complaint. This regulation was updated to reflect current organizational structure.
GMD-RA Continuing Professional Development Courses for Teachers
On June 11, 2009, the superintendent made revisions to Regulation GMD-RA, Continuing Professional Development Courses for Teachers. The regulation was updated to align with current practice, update directory information, and reflect changes in Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) procedures.
IHC-RA Part Time Daily Attendance for Secondary Students
On February 18, 2009, the superintendent made revisions to Regulation IHC-RA, Part Time Daily Attendance for Secondary Students. This regulation was revised to align with current practice.
On August 5, 2008, the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation IKA-RA, Grading and Reporting. This regulation was revised to align with Policy IKA, published procedures, and endorsed operational framework.
On March 3, 2009, Policy ISD, High School Commencements, was updated with non-substantive changes.

KEA-RA Participation in Political Campaigns and Distribution of Campaign Materials
On September 22, 2008, the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation KEA-RA, Participation in Political Campaigns and Distribution of Campaign Materials. This regulation was revised to reflect state law and to provide clarification regarding participation in political campaigns and distribution of campaign materials. Available on the web are companion exhibits KEA-EA, Use of School Property for Other Than School Purposes (State Law), and KEA-EC, Campaign Materials: Authority Line (State Law), that have been revised along with a new exhibit KEA-ED, Campaign Finance: Prohibited Acts and Penalties (State Law).

AFA-RB Guidelines for the Review, Dissemination, and Implementation of Educational Accountability Reports
On December 26, 2008, the superintendent rescinded Regulation AFA-RB, Guidelines for the Review, Dissemination, and Implementation of Educational Accountability Reports. The regulation no longer reflects current practice.
CFA Site-based Participatory Management
On May 12, 2009, the Board rescinded Policy CFA, Site-based Participatory Management. The policy was rescinded because site-based participatory management is no longer the model for parental involvement in the school improvement process.
Regulation COA-RA, School Visitors, has been changed to ABA-RB.
COD-RA Prohibition of Vendors on or Near School Premises
Regulation COD-RA, Prohibition of Vendors on or Near School Premises, has been changed to ABA-RC.
DBA Budget Preparation and Procedures
On May 12, 2009, the Board rescinded Policy DBA, Budget Preparation and Procedures. The policy was rescinded because Policy AEB, Strategic Planning for Continuous Improvement, has been revised to reflect the alignment of the budget preparation process with the Strategic Plan and to outline the opportunities for community input into the budget preparation process.
ECH-RA Unregistered Motor Vehicles Not Permitted on MCPS Property
On January 9, 2009, the superintendent rescinded Regulation ECH-RA, Unregistered Motor Vehicles Not Permitted on MCPS Property. Changes to the Montgomery County Code make the regulation unnecessary.
EGH-RA Preparation of Statistical Reports
On December 29, 2008, the superintendent rescinded Regulation EGH-RA, Preparation of Statistical Reports. The regulation no longer reflects current practice.
ECL Use of School Space by Montgomery College
On November 11, 2008, the Board approved the rescission of Policy ECL, Use of School Space by Montgomery College. The policy is regulatory in nature and does not rise to the level of a policy.

On August 21, 2008, the superintendent approved the rescission of Regulation IRA-RA, Student Aides for Kindergarten Teachers. The regulation was rescinded because it no longer describes current practice.
JFB Return of Graded Work, K-12
On November 11, 2008, the Board approved the rescission of Policy JFB, Return of Graded Work, K-12. The governance issues addressed in Policy JFB have been incorporated into, and superseded by Policy IKA, Grading and Reporting. Regulatory language in Policy JFB is now contained in Regulation IKA-RA, Grading and Reporting.
