JHG-RA Gangs, Gang Activity, or Other Similar Destructive or Illegal Group Behavior Prevention
On August 29, 2011, the superintendent approved Regulation JHG-RA, Gangs, Gang Activity, or Other Similar Destructive or Illegal Group Behavior Prevention. This new regulation has been developed as a requirement of the Safe Schools Act of 2010. It is primarily intended to address gang activity and similar destructive or illegal group behavior.
ACG Access to Employment, Services, Programs, and Activities by Individuals with Disabilities
On October 11, 2011, the Board adopted Policy ACG, Access to Employment, Services, Programs, and Activities by Individuals with Disabilities. This policy provides a clear and comprehensive mandate for the prohibition and elimination of any unlawful discrimination against individuals with disabilities and also affirms a strong commitment to the goals of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 as well as other applicable laws as they relate to employees, job applicants, and access to the school system's services by members of the public with disabilities.
ACG-RA Reasonable Accommodations and Modifications for Individuals with Disabilities with Regard to Employment, Services, Programs, and Activities
On December 22, 2011, the superintendent approved Regulation ACG-RA, Reasonable Accommodations and Modifications for Individuals with Disabilities with Regard to Employment, Services, Programs, and Activities. This regulation was revised to reflect the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008, to align with current practice, and to include the content from Regulation GBH-RA, Reasonable Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities with Regard to Employment, which was rescinded.
AFA-RA Research and Other Data Collection Activities in Montgomery County Public Schools
On December 14, 2011, the superintendent approved Regulation AFA-RA, Research and Other Data Collection Activities in Montgomery County Public Schools. This regulation was revised to align with recommendations from the deputy superintendent of schools' principals' advisory committee, Committee of the Association/Leaders/Deputy/Chief Operating Officer and includes essential language from MCPS Regulation EHC-RA, Clearance of Data Acquisition Activities, which has been rescinded.
CNA Informational Material and Announcements
On June 25, 2012, the Board adopted Policy CNA, Informational Material and Announcements. This policy informs the public and staff about displaying printed informational material and announcements in schools. The policy permits distribution of materials by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), federal, state, or local governmental entities, nationally affiliated PTAs operating within MCPS and Montgomery County Council of PTAs, and parent teacher organizations at special education school and alternative centers that operate in lieu of national affiliated PTAs. Other nonprofit organizations are permitted to directly distribute materials, at designated times, to elementary school students only.
DIE-RA Travel for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Purposes
On February 6, 2012 the superintendent approved Regulation DIE-RA, Travel for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Purposes and rescinded Regulation DIE-RB, Out-of-State Travel on Official Business. While there are some differences between procedures followed for local travel as opposed to out-of-area travel, it is recommended that both could be effectively addressed in a single regulation. Regulation DIE-RB was integrated into Regulation DIE-RA.
DJA-RA Procurement of Equipment, Supplies, and Contractual Services
On December 12, 2011, the superintendent approved Regulation DJA-RA, Procurement of Equipment, Supplies, and Contractual Services. This regulation was updated with minor edits to reflect current practice.
DNA-EA Disposal of School Property (State Law)
MCPS Exhibit DNA-EA, Disposal of School Property (State Law) was updated to comply with changes to Maryland law.

ECM Joint Occupancy of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Facilities
On February 14, 2012, the Board adopted Policy ECM, Joint Occupancy of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Facilities. This policy sets forth the criteria for joint occupancy of Montgomery County Public Schools facilities. Language has been added to include input from the school community when there are two or more candidates for the same space.
EDC-RA Control of Furniture and Equipment Inventory
On December 12, 2011, the superintendent approved Regulation EDC-RA, Control of Furniture and Equipment Inventory. This regulation was updated to reflect changes in definitions, form titles and current practices utilizing the Financial Management System.

On September 19, 2011, the superintendent approved Regulation EGF-RA, Maintenance, Retention, and Disclosure of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Records. This regulation was updated to reflect current practice and the most current guidance from the Maryland State Department of Education regarding records retention and disposition.
GBB-RA Employee Assistance Program
On November 21, 2011, the superintendent approved Regulation GBB-RA, Employee Assistance Program. This regulation was updated to reflect current directory information and procedures for confidentiality.

HDA Designation of the Montgomery County Education Association as Exclusive Representative
On September 13, 2011, the Board adopted Policy HDA, Designation of the Montgomery County Education Association as Exclusive Representative. This policy was updated to include substitute teachers and home and hospital teachers in the Montgomery County Education Association bargaining unit.

IOD Education of English Language Learners
On September 13, 2011, the Board adopted Policy IOD, Education of English Language Learners. This policy reaffirms the education of English language learners as a high priority for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and also ensures compliance with federal and state mandates regarding the education of English language learners. This policy has been updated to emphasize that the expectations for students in the English for Speakers of Other Languages program will be consistent with expectations for all students in MCPS.
IOE-RB Home and Hospital Teaching
On July 18, 2011, the superintendent approved Regulation IOE-RB, Home and Hospital Teaching. The regulation was revised to align with updated procedures governing Home and Hospital Teaching for students in Montgomery County public schools.

JFA-RA Student Rights and Responsibilities
On August 8, 2011, the superintendent approved Regulation JFA-RA, Student Rights and Responsibilities. This regulation was revised to remove content covered by other regulations and to respond to a large stakeholder review. Throughout this regulation, sections that have delineated the responsibilities of principals and other staff have been reworded to clarify, notify, and emphasize to students not only their rights, but also their responsibilities.

On March 13, 2012 the superintendent approved Regulation JGA-RA, Classroom Management and Student Behavior Interventions. This regulation has been updated to bring the restraint and seclusion language into compliance with Maryland State Department of Education guidance.
JPG-RA Wellness: Physical and Nutritional Health
On March 2, 2012 the superintendent approved Regulation JPG-RA, Wellness: Physical and Nutritional Health. This regulation has been updated to comply with the United States Department of Agriculture Healthy U. S. Schools guidelines.
On February 14, 2012, the Board adopted Policy KGC, Child Care. This policy affirms the importance of high quality child care and education settings for all children of Montgomery County and establishes the scope of Montgomery County Public Schools' role in partnering with the child care community in addressing child care needs. Language was added to clarify that by accomplishing the goals of the policy, high quality child care will be the result. Additionally, language was added to ensure Montgomery County Public Schools collaborates with a broad range of community members and organizations in its efforts to advocate for child care that meets the needs of Montgomery County students and families.

On February 6, 2012, the superintendent approved the rescission of Regulation DIE-RB, Out-of-State Travel on Official Business. On March 13, 2012, the Board rescinded Policy EDC, Furniture and Equipment. Relevant language form Policy EDC has been added to Regulation EDC-RA, Control of Furniture and Equipment Inventory.

On March 13, 2012, the Board rescinded Policy EFA, Bank Accounts for Cafeteria Funds. Relevant language is fully addressed in the Montgomery County Public Schools Financial Management Handbook and the Division of Food and Nutrition Services Procedures Handbook.
