Outcome Evaluation of the English for Speakers of Other Languages Program in Elementary Schools

Description:

This study examined the effects of the instructional services provided through the ESOL program in elementary schools. Findings indicated that elementary ESOL students in all subgroups made significant gains annually in English language acquisition as measured by Language Assessment System (LAS) Links tests in 2005-2006 through 2008-2009 school years. Further, there was a positive association of LAS Links scores with Maryland School Assessment (MSA) scores in reading and mathematics.
