We support children, adults, families, and seniors who are affected by a variety of at-risk factors, including a diagnosed disability, lack of environmental supports, low-socioeconomic levels, and limited knowledge about resources and/or the capacity to access them.

Casey's Special Education Services offers a variety of supports to students and their families (ages 2-28) including private special education sessions, school observations, educational narratives, parent coaching, document review/feedback, IEP meeting planning, educational partnerships and collaboration, and social skills groups. Services are provided by licensed special educators.

Connections Beyond Sight and Sound (CBSS) is a partnership between MSDE and UMD. This organization suppots children and young adults with deaf-blindness in their comes, school, and/or community. They provide consults, trainings, special programs, resources, and technical assistance to children and their families/providers. CBSS offers a variety of workships and activities on their website.

Independence Now is a nonprofit organization designed, governed and staffed by people with disabilities. We are part of a nationwide network of Centers for Independent Living, and serve as a resource and advocacy center that promotes independent living and equal access for people of all ages with all types of disabilities residing in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. Independence Now values serving a diverse population while educating and collaborating within and beyond the disability community. Independence Now is an inclusive, affirming, safe space.

Meaningful Futures provides private one on one support for students with disabilities. Proviers will create a customized treatment plan and work with their client in the home environment. Meaningful futures also offers adult life planning, respite care, and therapeutic integration "camps" over the weekends.

NCLB supports state deaf-blind projects which assist educators, agencies, and organizations in acquiring skills necessary to support deaf-blind children in early childhood through transition. Pathfinders for Autism supports autistic individuals by providing free resources including customized planning, resources, trainings, and information. Their website has information on recreational activities, webinars and general information on Autism Spectrum Disorders.

A Wider Circle strives to end poverty through their programs. They have an "Essential Support progra," which provides families with free beds, dressers, dining sets, couches, etc. In addition to furniture/resources for home, they provide professional development and career advancement activities, career counseling, job coaching, and professional workshops through their Professional Development Center. Those in need can also receive free professional clothing to wear during interviews or to their job. A Wider Circle partners with neighborhoods to provide workforce development trainings, health/wellness programming, family enrichment, support to resident leaders, and micro-grants to support community initiatives. Individuals do not need to be referred to receive assistance from A Wider Circle, all are welcome.

xMinds is a group of educators, parents, and service providers who support autistic students in Montgomery County. xMinds advocates for students and their families by hosting workshops, educational opportunities, and events each month. xMinds also partners with educators by offering grants throughout the school year.
