SSL Updates and Opportunities

All MCPS students must earn 75 SSL hours to graduate from high school. SSL forms (https://bit.ly/SSLReflection) should be submitted to the school’s SSL coordinator no later than the required deadline of June 2, 2023

Spring Break is a wonderful time to participate in SSL opportunities! Check out these important April 2023 SSL Updates to learn more about SSL opportunities, documentation, and how to stay up to date on your SSL record and activity. 

Upcoming April SSL Opportunities!

Choose Respect Montgomery - RespectFest - April 10-16, 2023

  • April 10-14, 2023 (virtual/online) - Middle school and high school students will have the opportunity to earn up to 5 SSL hours for actively participating in online activities and virtual workshops centered on dating violence and prevention! 
  • April 16, 2023, 1-4 PM - Wheaton Community Recreation Center (in-person) - Middle school and high school students will have the opportunity to earn up 3 SSL hours for attending this in-person festival focused on spreading awareness about dating violence and prevention! Registration will occur on-site.

C&O Canal and Potomac Riverside Cleanup

April 15, 2023 (9 AM - 12 PM) - Join us as we work together to clean up the Potomac River and its huge watershed area! Some of the many cleanup sites in our region are in your backyard! Interested students may view additional details and sign up at the following link

The Importance of Remembrance: Learning to Be an Upstander in Your Community

April 19, 2023 (6PM - 7:30PM) - In observance of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, middle school and high school students are invited to attend a virtual session to discuss ways in which they can take a stand against hate in their communities.
