All MCPS students must earn 75 SSL hours to graduate from high school. Middle school and high school students should continue earning SSL hours towards their SSL graduation requirement by engaging in SSL opportunities during the summer. MCPS is hosting the first ever chapter of the Youth Climate Institute (YCI) which educates and certifies the next generation of leaders in climate action. This extracurricular program allows student leaders to learn about climate science, impact, and solutions. Click here to learn more about this opportunity and how to apply.
The UMD SAFE Center will be hosting a Girls' Leadership Conference on Saturday June 29th for Middle and High School students. The conference will offer workshops on financial literacy, social media safety, career planning and more. It will take place at the University of Maryland College Park.
