Student-Athlete Leadership Council  The 2024-2025 Student-Athlete Leadership Council held the annual Kickoff Meeting on September 10, 2024. Student-athletes from all 25 MCPS high schools were represented at this meeting. SALC provides student voice regarding the administration of the MCPS interscholastic athletics program. The SALC theme of the year is “Year of the Coach”. #WeRAISE
Year of the Coach Initiative MCPS Athletics has designated the 2024-2025 school year as the Year of the Coach, a year-long tribute to the coaching profession and a celebration of the outstanding leaders within MCPS whom we proudly refer to as Coach. To begin, Fall Coaches Appreciation Week will take place from September 30 to October 5, culminating in National Coaches Day on October 6. Systemwide and school-based celebrations of coaches will occur throughout the school year.
Pickleball The pickleball season is underway and all 25 high schools have teams! MCPS is the first school district to offer pickleball as a varsity sport. The schedule is available here.
