Learning to SMOB

The Special Elections Committee, a group of students from across Montgomery County, run and oversee the election process for the Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB). They will host two sessions of the virtual "Learning to SMOB" event on December 6 and December 9 from 7-8 p.m. This event will share all you need to know about the Student Member of the Board (SMOB) of Education in MCPS to include the following:

• Work of the SMOB position
• Timeline of the SMOB election process
• Requirements to be a SMOB candidate, and more!

A panel of previous SMOBs and SMOB candidates will be present to share their experiences. If you're interested in running for SMOB or learning more about their role make sure to join!
