How to Enroll: Grades 1 - 12

Please Note: Student registration will be available online through the ParentVUE portal on April 17.

Please select the registration setup for 2023-2024 Enrollment (grades 1-12) if you are registering for the 2023-2024 school year.

4-Step Registration Process

  1. 1
    Determine Eligibility

Children age 6 by September 1 of the school year are eligible for enrollment.

Students who are age 5 by September 1 should register for kindergarten.

    Residency

School assignment is based on the bona fide residence of the student being enrolled. If you do not know what school your child should attend, please call the School Boundary Information line at 240-740-7725 or check their website at www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/planning and click on “Find Your School.”

Verify age, identity, residency, and immunization compliance

Parents registering their children for the first time in a Montgomery County public school must provide proof of age, identity, county residency and immunizations, unless homeless. Required immunizations must be completed within 20 days of registration.

Students who have previously attended school should bring their latest report card, if available. Students receiving special education services should bring a copy of the current Individualized Education Program (IEP).

    International Admissions and Enrollment

Contact International Admissions and Enrollment at 240-740-4500 to begin the enrollment process when:

    • The student is age 7 or older by September 1 and has not attended school within the U.S. or a U.S. accredited school (i.e., Department of Defense school or an accredited American International school in a foreign country) within the past two years, or
    • The student does not live with a parent or legal guardian.
