Jerry Weast to Retire in June 2011


Dr. Jerry D. Weast, superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools since 1999, has announced he will retire at the end of his current contract, on June 30, 2011. Dr. Weast has had the longest tenure of any MCPS superintendent since the 1950s. He was named Maryland Superintendent of the Year in 2003 and has guided MCPS through one of the most comprehensive and successful reform efforts in the nation.
