STEAM Festival Set for Saturday, Oct. 21
The MCPS STEAM Festival will highlight the educational, cultural and financial impact of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) throughout Montgomery County. Families will be able to participate in hands-on activities, talks, lab tours, nature experiences, exhibits and performances. The event will be held from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, at Wheaton High School, 12401 Dalewood Drive in Silver Spring.
Participating student groups and community partners will include: the Winston Churchill High School Women in Medicine Club, Montgomery College and its ignITe Hub, Boolean Girl, Flite Test, the Wheaton High School Society of Women Engineers, NASA, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Francis Scott Key Middle School, William H. Farquhar Middle School, Col. Zadok Magruder High School, Walter Johnson High School and Wheaton Woods Elementary School.
