The American Cancer Society marks the Great American Smokeout on the third Thursday of November each year. Smokers are encouraged to use the date to come up with a plan to quit, or to plan in advance to quit smoking that day.

By quitting, smokers will take an important step towards a healthier life, a step that can lead to reducing cancer and other health risks. Consider joining many other smokers from around the country who will participate in the Smokeout on Thursday, Nov. 16. Also, check out these resources and support to help you quit.
