Important Summer Information from ERSC

hello summer.jpg

Another successful school year is winding down. Before your summer plans get underway, please consider these important items from the Employee and Retiree Service Center (ERSC).

2024-2025 School Year Plans

MCPS expects that 10-month employees will return to their permanent position(s) for the 2024–2025 school year unless they have notified the Office of Human Resources and Development (OHRD) that they will not return or OHRD has notified them that their position(s) will not be available.

Work Schedules for the 2024–2025 School Year

If you are a 10-month employee, your summer break may end on a different date than your coworkers, based on your position. Your first work day of the 2024–2025 school year—as well as the total number of duty days for the year, any in-service days and more—is listed on the annual work schedule.

Educational Systems Federal Credit Union’s Summer Pay Disbursement

If you have an Educational Systems Federal Credit Union (FCU) Premium Summer Pay Account*, the biweekly summer disbursements will be on the following dates:

  • July 5 and 19, 2024
  • 2 and 16, 2024

If you opt to request a paper check in lieu of electronic transfer, please note the following: Educational Systems FCU will charge you $5 if you make a request for a paper check by phone. There is no charge if you make a request via online banking.

For more information, visit the Educational Systems FCU Summer Pay webpage and learn how to start saving for next summer.

Most 10- and 11-month Employees to Receive Partial Paycheck on July 12, 2024

Most 10- and 11-month MCPS employees who work during the June 15–28 pay period will receive a partial paycheck on July 12, 2024. This paycheck will include pay for the number of days worked during this pay period.

Plan Ahead for September’s Accelerated Pay Date

MCPS will accelerate one pay date in September for the convenience of our 10-month employees. The accelerated pay date enables 10-month employees to receive a full paycheck more quickly.

September pay dates will be:

  • Sept. 6, 2024
  • Sept. 13, 2024

Pay dates will resume their biweekly schedule with the following pay date of Oct. 4, 2024. Please plan accordingly and budget in preparation for this change to the normal pay schedule.

The full 2024–2025 pay date schedule is available on the ERSC website.
