Churchill’s La Faye Howard Named Assistant Principal of the Year

La Faye Howard, assistant principal at Winston Churchill High School, has been named the 2025 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP), in collaboration with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). This award recognizes the work of these outstanding instructional leaders in leading teaching, learning and student achievement, and fostering cultures that promote success for all stakeholders.

Celebrating Dance and Excellence

The 24th Annual After School Dance Fund (ASDF) Baila4Life Latin Dance Competition was a spectacular display of talent and passion as hundreds of Montgomery County students gathered at The Music Center at Strathmore for a day filled with rhythm, energy and dance. Supported by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), the event brought together dancers from 25 high schools for an unforgettable celebration of movement and competition.

Walter Johnson students hosted the 41st Annual Senior Luncheon, serving a Thanksgiving meal with live music from the Walter Johnson Jazz Band, and offering dancing for local senior citizens.

MCPS Students Begin Construction on 44th Annual Young American House

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students enrolled in Construction Technology Programs are making impressive strides on the early phases of the 44th annual Young American house, a collaboration with the Montgomery County Students Construction Trades Foundation, Inc. Since 1976, this project has served as a cornerstone of MCPS career education, offering students a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in the construction industry.
